Vehicle Service Agreement
Pays the cost of parts and labor on covered repairs for X years or XX thousand miles, with a $XXX deductible.
A Vehicle Service Agreement (Contract), often referred to as an “extended warranty,” is a great way for any vehicle owner to budget repair costs and keep one of their biggest investments in top operating condition. It’s also one-way vehicle owners can protect themselves from the increasing cost of any unexpected repairs.
With the advanced technology in today’s vehicles and the expanded use of component parts, repairs are unpredictable and can be extremely costly. A Vehicle Service Agreement can help protect you against unexpected repair costs and significant out-of-pocket expenses that may be required after your manufacturer’s warranty has expired.
Vehicle Service Agreements are typically available in several mileage/term/deductible combinations with coverage levels to meet your budget and driving habits. Costs depend on the type of vehicle you lease or purchase, if it’s new or used, the age and miles on the vehicle, what repairs are covered, and the term in years and miles of coverage selected. Your options may vary, so it’s a good idea to explore the various options available to ensure you select the coverage that will fit your individual needs, driving habits, and budget.
Warranty Compliance Program
Pays for manufacturer-recommended maintenance items for up to X years or XX thousand miles.
A Warranty Compliance Program, also called Prepaid Maintenance or Extended Vehicle Maintenance, allows you to prepay for the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance, such as oil and filter changes, and typically also includes the periodic inspections required by the manufacturer. It’s important you understand the eligibility requirements, the services provided, and any maintenance items or inspections not covered under the program.
A Warranty Compliance Program helps ensure the maintenance requirements and inspections needed to keep your factory warranty in effect are performed when they are required to be performed. It also provides you with documentation that it was done. Each time your vehicle’s VIN is entered into the dealership’s computer system, it automatically checks to determine if there are any service bulletins or recalls that need to be performed on your vehicle. Plus, you have a detailed service history available on your vehicle, which can dramatically increase its resale value.
Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP)
Pays the difference between actual cash value and loan balance if your vehicle is declared a total loss due to theft or collision.
Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) is designed to protect you from a deficiency balance that may exist in the event a leased or financed vehicle is declared a total loss due to accident or theft. When a vehicle is declared a total loss, the primary auto insurance settlement is generally based on the current market value of the vehicle. This amount may be substantially less than the balance due on the vehicle.
If a total loss occurs, and there is a difference between what you receive from your insurance carrier and the net payoff due to the lender, the GAP provider will pay the balance, with fewer exclusions, and excess deductibles. Guaranteed Asset Protection can lessen or even eliminate your remaining balance. This also includes your insurance deductible in most states. Guaranteed Asset Protection is an important option for individuals who have a minimum downpayment and/or have significant negative equity on the vehicle they are trading in.
Tire & Wheel Road Hazard Protection
Replaces or repairs tires and wheels damaged due to road hazards, typically for 3-5 years.
Tire & Wheel Road Hazard Protection provides coverage for today’s expensive alloy wheels and low-profile tires, both of which are extremely susceptible to road hazards. Road hazard is normally defined as objects and road conditions such as potholes, rocks, wood debris, metal parts, nails, plastic or composition scraps, or any item causing tire damage other than normal wear and tear.
No matter how carefully you drive, you will inevitably encounter accident debris, unexpected potholes and other road hazards that can leave you with a tire or wheel in need of immediate repair or replacement. Unfortunately, few vehicles today include a full-size spare and/or a matching alloy wheel.
With Tire & Wheel Road Hazard Protection, your tires and wheels will be covered in the event of damage from road hazards, avoiding a possible claim on your vehicle insurance. Most plans are also deductible-free and include roadside assistance. Some plans also offer coverage for cosmetic damage (curb rash) to the wheel.
Vehicle Theft Protection
Vehicle alarm, shock sensor, and immobilizer that disables engine with passive arming.
Vehicle Theft Protection includes various theft deterrent and recovery products designed to deter or prevent thieves from stealing your vehicle or locate and recover it if it is stolen. These may include permanent etching of vehicle ID on the glass, alarm systems with shock sensors, vehicle immobilizers, and GPS tracking devices.
Many of these Vehicle Theft Protection products can enable law enforcement to identify stolen parts or track, locate, and recover your stolen vehicle. Some also provide GEO fencing or boundary alerts via your cell phone. Some will alert you if your parked vehicle is moving. Many also provide a cash benefit if your vehicle is declared a total loss due to theft.
Key Replacement Coverage
Replaces your smart key or remote in the event it’s lost, stolen, or destroyed for up to 5 years.
Most modern vehicles are now operated using electronic keys, remotes, or your cell phone, which then communicate with the vehicle’s keyless entry control module to allow you to unlock, start, and operate the vehicle. Replacing and reprogramming keys and remotes when they are lost, stolen, or destroyed can be very costly. Key Replacement Coverage can provide you with a replacement key and/or remote, as well as cover the programming costs for a missing, damaged, or stolen remote. Some plans also provide roadside assistance, lock-out service, as well as coverage for other keys or remotes that were lost, stolen or destroyed at the same time.
Paintless Dent Repair
Pays for repair of minor dents and dings.
Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) has become the preferred method of repairing minor dents and dings because they can be repaired while leaving the original paint in place. PDR is extremely effective if the paint has not been broken, the dent is not near the edge of a body panel, and the panel has not had previous body repair.
Windshield Chip Protection

Small chips and minor cracks damage the integrity of your vehicle’s windshield. A damaged windshield can deteriorate over time, it can also jeopardize your safety and the performance of airbags. Windshield Chip Protection pays for the repair of chips and minor cracks to maintain the stability of your windshield. Some plans may replace windshields that are non-repairable, preventing a claim on your insurance.
Identity Theft Protection
Fully managed identity restoration should you become a victim of identity theft.
Identity Theft Protectionis a service designed to keep your personal information—like your Social Security number, bank details, and other sensitive data—safe from being stolen or misused by fraudsters. Some plans offer comprehensive monitoring of your personal information, fraud detection, real-time fraud alerts for suspicious activity, and assistance with identity restoration if needed, including fraud insurance coverage.
Credit Insurance
Credit Life Insurance pays off the installment loan contract in the event of your death.
Credit Accident & Health Insurance makes your loan payment while you’re unable to work due to any covered accident or illness.
Credit Life Insurance pays the remainder of your loan in the event you die before the loan is repaid. A credit life policy is issued for an amount equal to how much you owe. As your loan balance decreases, so does the face amount of the credit life policy.
Credit Accident & Health, also known as credit disability insurance, is a health insurance policy. Credit Accident & Health Insurance makes payments if you become sick or disabled and are unable to work. There may be a limit on the number of payments or the total dollar amount the policy will pay. Credit insurance policies protect both you and the lender.
Vehicle Protection Accessories
Dealerships typically offer or may pre-install numerous accessories on the vehicles they sell. These include such things as:
Dash Cam
Dash Cameras typically record sounds and images inside and outside of the vehicle while you are driving, providing video documentation of what happened in an accident. A dash cam can help prevent someone from making a fraudulent claim against you, as you’ll have direct proof of the incident. A dash cam acts as a form of security for your vehicle when it is parked and left unattended.
Geofencing
Geofencing is a way to use GPS to define a geographical zone and track if your vehicle is leaving or entering a predetermined area. This ‘area’ is the geo-fence. Geofencing can cut down on inappropriate or unauthorized use of a vehicle and provide an additional level of safety. For example, if someone is driving your vehicle and it leaves a geofenced area, you can immediately contact the driver or notify the authorities of a stolen vehicle and let them know where the vehicle is located.
Window Tint
Tinted windows can make your vehicle more comfortable by reducing glare and keeping the interior cooler. This may allow you to use your air conditioner less, improving gas mileage. Tinted windows also make it harder for people to see inside your vehicle, which can provide an extra level of security. Tinted windows also block UV rays, which can help protect your vehicle’s interior.
